This is the kids bike generator... Built for an eco type place to show the kids how electricity is made. I wanted to do all kinds of stuff but I had to keep it simple for the adults... No switches or confusions...
The bike is fastened to some plywood with some 3x2 to give it strength and allow me a cavity for the wires...
The motor is a fan motor from an old car (permanent magnet type)
The ribbed pulley for the motor was custom made and the rubber belt was a standard thing from the car spares shop... Now I've made one it seems silly to ride a bike to somewhere when you can stay at home and charge batteries...
